Those dreams were crushed after three years on the job when she says she was fired for a "distasteful" Instagram post. Davis grew up in Ellisville, Mississippi. Her family travelled miles km to Louisiana to support the New Orleans Saints football team each season. Her mother worked as a choreographer for the Saintsations for 18 years and Davis grew up around the women with the goal of someday becoming one of them. After high school, Davis finally had her chance to dance in the Superdome, where the Saints play. She was invited to become a Saintsation after a year of junior college. The year-old spent three seasons travelling with the Super Bowl champions until she was fired on 23 January.

‘Like a Human Barricade’
The latest of these sad reminders comes courtesy of Bailey Davis, a former New Orleans Saints cheerleader who told The New York Times she was fired this past January after posting a photo of herself on her private Instagram in a lacy bodysuit. Shocker: neither do similarly draconian rules for cheerleaders across the country. If a cheerleader is in a restaurant and a player arrives afterward, she must leave. This includes texting, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, et cetera. In some cases, wearing sweatpants in public is forbidden. The stated intent of some of these parochial rules is to protect cheerleaders from stalkers or unwanted sexual attention from players—but teams seem to think the burden of that responsibility should fall squarely on the squads, and not be shared whatsoever with the men who might be issuing that attention. Their victory?
